Review: Tribulation Rising Teaching Series

Is the world primed for the return of Jesus Christ and the start of the tribulation? What part will technology play in the end times?

A few weeks ago I was watching an interview of Pastor Billy Crone on Jan Markell's YouTube channel and I discovered a series Pastor Crone released called "Tribulation Rising Volume 2 - Modern Technology."

I liked what I was hearing in the 2-part interview videos and the title got me curious, so I decided to check it out.

This is my review of Pastor Crone's 16-part series.

I bought the series at Vimeo for $19, but you can also buy this series in DVD form (see links below).

As a side note, volume 1 in the Tribulation Rising series is Tribulation Rising - The Jewish People & The Antichrist.

And you don't need to see the first volume to understand/enjoy this one.

A Life of Looking

Allow me to talk a little bit about my life/thoughts so that you can see where I'm coming from for this review.

For all of my adult life I've been 1) a computer geek, 2) fascinated with the End Times and 3) a cyber-security "enthusiast."

And for as long as I can remember I've always tried to piece together how things would work in the tribulation from a tech perspective.

I should point out, I don't spend time trying to figure out a date (the Bible clearly says only the Father knows), but we will know when the time is near.

And when that time is near, look up:

Luke 21:28 (NKJV)

Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.

For a long time I just couldn't see how some things around the Tribulation would be done, such as:

1. How the whole world would see events at the same time (aside from a supernatural event).
2. How the mark of the beast would work as it just wasn't practical, from a tech perspective.
3. How people could be stopped from getting supplies, such as food.
4. How the whole world could be connected, understanding each other, etc.
5. How "marked" people would be stopped (wilfully or otherwise) from helping non-mark-of-the-Beast people (maybe a relative/friend).

As you can see, my point-of-view was from the tech perspective.

Certainly someone even in the 1980s would at best be dreaming up ways for these things to happen.

Over the past 10 years there have been so many advancements & changes. Things are really speeding up!

And as to questions 3, 4 and 5, thanks to China and what we've seen happen around the U.S. in recent years those are answered.

Back in college, I took a lot of Political Science courses and in one of them, International Relations, we used to talk about how China was starting to rise and would be a Hegemonic state—at the time the forecast was 2025.

Since then I shifted my curiosity from Russia to China, so anytime someone speaks about China, especially the technical side, I listen.

As you may know, China has grown by leaps and bounds over the past two decades.

While they remain the leaders in the surveillance state, many other places, such as the U.S., are adopting these behaviors (usually in the guise of safety initially).

In recent years in the U.S., we've seen people "de-platformed," which means they lose their ability to speak, get paid, etc.

And what about control over money?

Pastor Crone talks a lot about the power over buying and selling in his series. It's very important.

For a long time I questioned the control over buying and selling because of cash. But we've largely become a plastic & electronic consumer world.

Crypto currency has been around since the early 2000s (example: BitCoin), but it has lacked legitimacy and stability, which is what keeps it from being anything but a tool for the underground and prospectors.

However, this is changing.

As of this writing, I'm a software engineer at one of the largest financial institutions in the world and we're working on adding legitimacy to crypto currency (our version, not BitCoin).

Right now the coin is in beta with larger institutions and for institution-to-institution transfers, but after a period of time I expect the digital currency to roll out to others.

Will we change to crypto currency for the Tribulation?

I don't know of course, but this is just trending toward everything we do in life being dependant on a 3rd party system that can be monitored & controlled by a governing body.

And a system that you can be de-platformed (removed) from at any time for any reason. When this happens, you'll be left with nothing.

It's pretty easy to see how money and people will be controlled & how nothing will be hidden anymore.

Today, I don't have the questions of "how."

Today, I have the question of "when."

Anyway, I don't want to spoil this series for you in this article, but let me just say that I think Pastor Crone does a great job with showing how all these things are possible today.

As mentioned earlier, it's a $19 purchase there. It might be shown elsewhere, but I just purchased it from Vimeo to support the ministry.

The series is broken down into 16 videos with each video being around 1 hour.

The total time is 16 hours, 49 minutes.

And if you're someone who is interested in Tribulation & technology, the videos will just fly by.

If you do buy this series on Vimeo, you can stream it from their platform anytime you want or you can download it.

I've done both and the platform works well.

If you're not familiar with Vimeo, it's similar to YouTube in that you play videos through the website or app.

For streaming, I just use their app on the Apple TV, but Vimeo has apps for the major platforms, such as iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, etc.

Each "episode" is basically a 1-hour church service from Pastor Crone's church in Las Vegas.

I think he did a great job with presentation and I enjoyed every minute.

Aside from him talking about Bible prophecy and technology, he also plays several video clips throughout to show you what he's talking about.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I definitely recommend you watch this series, especially if you're a non-tech person, as it will open your eyes to some of what's going on and what's possible.

Both my wife and I really enjoyed the series and it's one that I'll be re-watching again soon.

Pastor Crone does a great job of displaying just how far we've come in a short period of time (how technology is speeding up).

My Wife's Thoughts

My wife is a newer Christian (Thank you Jesus!) and she hasn't spent a lot of time studying the End Times yet.

I still remember the day when I fired up the Revelation teaching series from Pastor Derek Neider of Calvary Chapel Las Vegas.

She was like, "Dragon? Beast? Dead people? Jesus on a horse?"

Anyway, here are her thoughts on Pastor Crone's video:

"As someone who didn't know a great deal about the Tribulation and Bible prophecy yet, I was finding the End Times a little difficult to grasp."
