The Encounter Season Two: Who Do You Say I Am?

Jesus (played by Bruce Marchiano) returns to find people needing some help. Don't we all need help?

Season 2 of The Encounter from Pure Flix was released on January 22, 2020 and I for one couldn't wait. Jan 22 was like Christmas morning for me.

At the time of this writing the season just got started, so stay tuned for updates as each episode is released.

In the first episode this season Jesus is literally standing at the door and knocking (technically ringing the doorbell, but close enough).

Just as a side note, I think Bruce plays a fantastic modern-day Jesus. I'm really hoping there's a lot more to come (more seasons, maybe even another movie).

Have you seen season 1 of The Encounter or any of the movies?

If not, I recommend you go watch those first so you get to enjoy the full progression of The Encounter.

It's not needed from a story perspective, but it's just nice to see how things have progressed over the years.

In the series, set in modern times, Jesus shows up to various people at critical points in their life.

For example, the first episode of season 2, Jesus appears to a mother who is about to have another birthday where she thinks no one cares about her.

She is wishing for a different life and is envious of her friend who is a fashion designer, world traveler, etc.

Jesus shows up as a delivery man delivering a very special gift.

As the episode progresses Jesus is there to watch her and talk to her as she deals with her life choices.

Usually the people don't know he is Jesus, but to some he looks familiar. And in some episodes Jesus announces himself directly ("Who do you say I am?").

Ok, so there's a chance you've been busy and haven't had the chance to checkout The Encounter season two yet.

I get it, only so many hours in a day.

But if you're like me, you dislike having tv & movies spoiled.

Still, with TV time sometimes at a premium, you've go to know one thing:

Is watching The Encounter Season 2 worth your time?

The short answer is: yes!

At the time of writing, I've seen the first couple of episodes in the new season and I enjoyed them and am looking forward to what's next.

Aside from this season, I enjoyed last season and the movies too. I definitely recommend them.
